IBM’s first Quantum Data Center in Europe
IBM unveiled its first Quantum Data Center outside United States. IBM has opened its Quantum Data Center in Europe, it is company’s second Data center in World.
A global enterprise – IBM has opened its Quantum data center in Ehningen, Germany. It is IBM’s first Quantum Data center in Europe, but it is IBM’s second data center in the overall world. This step marks a significant extension to its advanced, utility – scale Quantum system available to the global users via cloud. IBM’s European Quantum Data center, located in Ehningen, Germany, is equipped with two utility – scale IBM quantum computers running with 127 – qubit IBM Eagle processors.
Why did IBM choose Europe?
Europe is the birthplace of quantum physics, and European organizations are centralized to increase our understanding toward quantum computing and quantum physics. Apart from these, IBM has a lot of reasons for choosing Europe as a suitable location for first non-U.S. Quantum Data Center. IBM has its dedicated quantum teams in various European Countries like IBM has quantum – specific business software and firmware development teams in Germany, Software and ecosystem resources in Spain and IBM’s European Support team is bases in France. Europe has large revenue opportunities for IBM. It has a growing quantum system fed by research and technology.

This IBM Quantum Data Center in Europe is a significant step towards advancement of quantum computing in Europe. These advances will provide the obvious benefit of job creation and promote the overall growth of Europe’s quantum computing ecosystem.
