The New Version of cPanel’s Web Hosting Control Panel Has Now Been Released
The most impressive new feature is Team Manager, a new interface that allows administrators to create teams of users that may edit certain cPanel settings. The Let’s Encrypt plugin will be installed in the newest version of the web hosting control panel, but it will not be configured as the default.
cPanel has announced the introduction of a new edition of its web hosting control panel, just a few months after announcing a price hike in December. This version, 108, is released around three months after version 106 and includes several changes and improvements.
Some New Features and Enhancements
cPanel & WHM 108 comes with a new feature named Team Manager. It enables the creation of extra team members who can log in and change the cPanel account. Users on the team can make changes to domains, email accounts, and databases. While this functionality is available with cPanel and WHM 108, it is classified as an “experimental feature.” In addition, there is now a link in the navigation bar and interface bottom for providing feedback to the cPanel developers.
The Jupiter theme has replaced the Paper Lantern motif in the Onboarding Assistant. In addition, the default setting for “Allow insecure contact email update” in the Tweak Settings interface has been adjusted to “off.” The Rocky Linux 8 operating system is also fully supported in version 108.
Comes with Let’s Encrypt Plugin
The system will automatically install the Let’s Encrypt plugin after upgrading the cPanel & WHM instance to version 108. It will not, however, be configured as the default SSL provider. Users will also be able to immediately update their MySQL 5.6 instances to any supported version of MariaDB. Finally, in order to appear on the menus, the Calendars and Contacts interfaces now require the Calendar and Contacts Server (CSS) plugin to be installed.
The Paper Lantern theme has been removed from all interface menu options in cPanel & WHM 108; it is no longer accessible. Furthermore, the PHP version will not be displayed in the Server information interface. This version also removes the Horde webmail interface and Horde settings.
