Amazon Web Services to invest €7.8 billion for AWS European Sovereign Cloud

Amazon Web Services (AWS) has unveiled plans to invest €7.8 billion in the AWS European Sovereign Cloud in Germany by 2040.

The investment is anticipated to boost the local cloud community, enhancing productivity, facilitating business digital transformation, expanding the AWS Partner Network (APN), and upskilling the workforce in cloud and digital technologies

The total investment is projected to contribute €17.2 billion to Germany’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) through 2040, supporting an average of 2,800 full-time jobs annually in local German businesses.

These roles encompass construction, facility maintenance, engineering, telecommunications, and other areas within the AWS data center supply chain.
