Tech Giant Microsoft Buys Property in Michigan for Potential Data Center
Microsoft buys more than 300 acres of land in West Michigan in collaboration with The Right Place for its potential data center.
Microsoft purchases land, more than 300 acres, in West Michigan, Southern Kent County for its potential data center. Microsoft purchased this land in collaboration with The Right Place. The Right Place is a major economic development organization in West Michigan.
A spokesperson told FOX 17, “Microsoft has acquired industrial land in Gaines Charter Township, Michigan, for potential data center development. This site of more than 300 acres was identified in collaboration with The Right Place as part of our ongoing search for development opportunities in the Michigan market.”
The Right place explained that they are pleased to help Microsoft Corporation to assess a industrial parcel of more than 300 acres in Gaines Charter Township for a potential data center.

Gaines Township Director of Community Development Dan Wells revealed that Microsoft has not yet submitted any concrete plans. Dan Wells said in a statement, “Although there’s a lot of speculation about what Microsoft will do there, I have not discussed any projects with them, nor have they submitted any concept plans,”
This Step will result in the expansion of tech industry in West Michigan.
