Alibaba Cloud Elevates Paris 2024’s Games Viewing Experience with Cloud Technologies

by Manvinder Singh August 13, 2024 0 Comment

Alibaba Cloud, mainly referred to as the digital technology and intelligence backbone of Alibaba Group, harnessed the power of its cloud technologies to drive multiple initiatives throughout the Olympic Games Paris 2024 (Paris 2024). These efforts were made to encourage and empower media professionals in their coverage of the Games while also elevating the engagement of worldwide sports fans through a wide range of innovative apps.

“Alibaba significantly boosts the effectiveness and sustainability of Olympic Games operations by providing crucial technological support during the games. Beyond the Olympic Games, Alibaba plays a pivotal role in our Olympic AI Agenda, assisting us in responsibly utilizing the immense potential of artificial intelligence. “All of these instances demonstrate why Alibaba is the ideal collaborator in forming our digital future,” stated Thomas Bach, the President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) and Alibaba Cloud have partnered to introduce a Media Archiving AI Solution. Improved visual search capabilities, automatic multimedia content classification, and video highlight creation via AI-powered media asset management services are all offered by this cloud-based system.

Alibaba Cloud and the International Olympic Committee (IOC) have teamed to launch a media archiving artificial intelligence solution. This cloud-based system provides enhanced visual search capabilities, automated multimedia content classification, and video highlight production with AI-powered media asset management services.

An important development in sports media preservation is the IOC Media preservation AI system. Using the visual AI of Alibaba Cloud, the solution’s automatic video highlight the generation that finds and gathers the most memorable moments from the boxing and archery matches in Paris 2024. This function enhances the global audience’s enjoyment of the Games by helping media professionals with their video storytelling.

Moreover, the Olympic Archive’s decades-old audiovisual and photo collections are indexed and categorized more quickly, thanks to Alibaba Cloud’s in-house AI algorithms. This improves content discovery and streamlines media asset management processes.

“We are delighted to endorse the IOC’s AI Agenda, which was launched in April of this year,” stated Selina Yuan, President of Alibaba Cloud Intelligence’s International Business. “Our cloud-based AI projects aim to improve the Olympic Games experience for both media professionals and spectators throughout the world. We are steadfast in our commitment to implementing our ideas to improve the Olympic Games’ effectiveness, appeal, sustainability, and inclusivity for all parties involved.
