WP Engine Scores Legal Win Against Automattic
A US judges granted a preliminary injunction on 10 December, ordering WordPress owner Automattic to stop interfering WP Engine’s plugins.

In October, WP Engine filed a case against Automattic and Mullenweg, abusing and accusing them of extortion. Moreover, on 10 December US judge granted a preliminary injunction and has also give the Defendents 72 hours to remove the list of highlighted WP engine clients posted online, to restore WP engine’s access to wordpress.org, and to restore WP engine’s access to and control of its advanced custom fields plugin directory listing on WordPress.org.
In mid-September, Mullenweg wrote a blog post calling WP engine “a cancer to WordPress”. He criticized the host for disallowing the ability for users to see and track the revision history for every post. Moreover, Mullenweg believes this feature is at the “core of the user promises of safeguarding your data” and said that WP engine turns it off by default to save money.
Furthermore, on 6th Nov Automattic intensified the pressure on WP engine by launching a website named WP engine trackers that provided a list of WP engine clients that may be used by other web hosts to solicit the clients with offers to leave WP engine.
Well, on 7th Nov Automattic developed a new page named WP engine tracker to highlight how many websites have switches from WP engine to another hosting provider.
